Annual Events
SDA continues to offer fun and engaging monthly programming in a safe, socially distanced setting. From business meetings and educational networking events, to membership outreach programming, our members are given opportunity to attend in person or virtually to suit their comfort level.
CANstruction
CANstruction is an annual A/E/C Design and Build Competition where teams design and build a structure made completely from canned foods and all proceeds are donated to our local food bank. SDA hosts and coordinates this event.
Half-Day Seminar
Focuses specifically on one of the five PEGs by diving deep into a specific topic and explaining what it is, how it is used in the workplace, and lessons learned. Attendees are encouraged to interact and ask questions to enhance their skillset and help their firm gain a competitive advantage.
Community Outreach
SDA San Antonio members also volunteer for several non-profit organizations that include activities like Bingo Nights at Haven for Hope, clothing drives to support Dress for Success, and assemble holiday baskets for area shelters.
Design Treasures
Design Treasures is an annual event held at a different elementary school each year. Teams of A/E/C professionals provide a brief glimpse of their jobs to 4th/5th grade students to encourage future paths in STEM careers.

Membership Outreach
Led by our Membership Chair and the Board of Directors, SDA hosts multiple opportunities for potential members to engage, network with current members, and learn more about SDA. These events include fun virtual happy hours; lunchtime speed bingo and an annual event gathering activity.
EdSymposium
A three-day conference facilitated by SDA National. At the conference, members attend informative sessions about the latest industry trends and network with members from other chapters.
EdConnect
A series of webinars hosted in the Fall that can strengthen your knowledge and sharpen your skills. For convenience, all presentations can be viewed from any device, anywhere.
